Role Summary
- Participate in the Management Accounts team which links Management Accounts, BI, and the Tax team.
- Act as the data ambassador.
- Assist with monthly financial closing and in the execution of the company’s financial controls.
- Take ownership of regular international VAT submissions and regular bank reconciliations.
- Engage with external auditors and learn how to use SQL to analyze financial results.

SportPursuit, one of Europe’s leading sport and outdoor online retailers, is currently looking for a driven, intelligent and friendly individual who’s up for an exciting opportunity in our Finance team as the business continues to grow. Your role will be in the Management Accounts team, in a position that acts as a bridge between Management Accounts, BI and the Tax team. The three teams working cohesively is paramount to the wider success of the Finance function to ensure compliance and accurate and timely financial reporting to management. Your role will be data/SQL focused and you will act as the data ambassador within the Finance team. Key responsibilities will include: Assisting with monthly financial closing, Assisting the Financial Controller in the development and on-going execution of the company’s financial controls, Completing regular bank reconciliations, Ownership of regular international VAT submissions, Engaging with external auditors, Learning how to use SQL to analyse financial results. Requirements include: Disciplined and methodical approach to tasks, Comfortable with challenging existing processes, Well organised and able to prioritise your workload, Great at solving problems independently, Confident in using Microsoft Excel, An effective communicator in both written and verbal English, Mathematically minded, An independent logical thinker, Passionate about data analytics, Someone who enjoys coding as a hobby, Eager to develop your skills and learn new things.
