Volunteer Trustee with senior leadership experience acquired in the commercial or charity sector

What will you be doing?

As an entirely volunteer-run charity involved in supporting Refugees and Asylum Seekers during these highly emotive times, our main challenges are:

sourcing premises from which to deliver our services campaigning to ensure the government adopts a more humane approach to asylum seekers developing our organisation to meet the ever-increasing numbers of clients

To help us meet these challenges, you will bring the following skills:

Organizational ability Good written and spoken English Collaborative, supportive and persuasive style The ability to influence at a high level Compassion and sensitivity to the feelings of others Leadership experience at a senior level in a commercial business or charity with experience in one of the following areas: Business Development Digital Communications/PR Finance/Procurement

In addition, we are seeking someone with experience as Chair of an organisation or charity. We would particularly like to hear from people who have lived experience of the asylum and immigration system

What are we looking for?

You should have:

at least 3 years' experience in a senior leadership role  significant experience of crafting and delivering business strategy a genuine belief in the charity's goals and desire to improve the plight of refugees

As part of our board you will support and shape our work and strategic direction, as well as help us achieve our purpose to support the integration of refugees and asylum seekers into our community.  You will support and guide our volunteers, open up valuable networks and bring  structure and process to a passionate and vibrant organisation.
