The British Museum is seeking a director to lead the Energy Centre Programme, a key initiative aimed at transforming our infrastructure to significantly reduce our carbon footprint and move towards becoming a net zero museum. This role is based in Bloomsbury and is a full-time contract position until December 2029, with the possibility of extension.

The role: As the Senior Responsible Owner, you will provide strategic leadership to ensure the programme is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will be responsible for programme governance, financial management, and risk control, and will lead and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams.

Job requirements: The ideal candidate will have a degree in a relevant technical discipline and chartered status, with extensive experience in delivering large-scale infrastructure programmes, preferably in heritage or public sector environments. You should be skilled in overseeing governance, finance, and managing large teams.
