Role Summary
- Manage and ensure the accuracy of Membership data and Direct Debit processing
- Oversee data flow administration, maintain data quality and compliance
- Liaise with various departments and our Direct Debit provider to support excellent donor experiences and reporting
- Line manage the Database Assistant and report to the Database Manager
Role Requirements
- Experience in data administration and Direct Debit management, with strong attention to detail
- Knowledge of UK GDPR, Direct Debit, PCI regulations and sector best practices
- Manage relationships with Direct Debit service providers, ensuring SLAs are met
- Administer membership renewal data and support mailings production
- Support collections in collaboration with the Membership Services team
The British Museum is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive individual with strong experience in data and Direct Debit management to support the Membership and Advancement work of the Museum. As Data Manager: Membership, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our data processes, particularly focused on managing Membership data and Direct Debit processing.
The role entails reporting to the Database Manager and line managing the Database Assistant, you will oversee the day-to-day administration of data flow, maintain high standards of data quality and compliance, and contribute to broader system development in line with the Museum’s strategic goals. You will work closely with colleagues across the Advancement department, Finance, the IS team, and our Direct Debit provider, ensuring our systems and data support excellent donor experiences and robust reporting.
Job requirements include administering and managing data input and processing, ensuring high levels of accuracy and compliance with UK GDPR, Direct Debit and PCI regulations, and sector best practices. Leading on the accurate and timely processing of Direct Debit payments and supporting broader collections in collaboration with the Membership Services team. Managing the relationship with the Direct Debit service provider, resolving issues and ensuring SLAs are met. Overseeing membership renewal data and supporting the production of monthly and bespoke mailings.
