Role Summary

  • Create engaging and high-quality films for the website, marketing campaigns, and in-gallery displays, including bespoke content.
  • Manage all aspects of video creation, from capturing footage to editing and archiving 4K content.

Role Requirements

  • Proven experience in filming and editing high-quality video content, preferably with Sony FX6 or FS7.
  • High proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects, with experience in creating graphics using Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Strong skills in project management, meeting deadlines, and time management.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and draw performances from contributors.

The British Museum is seeking a Video Producer to join our Video & Audio Production team on a 6-month fixed-term contract, with the possibility of extension to 13 months. This role is hybrid, requiring on-site presence due to our video editing software being located at the museum.

About the role: You will be responsible for creating engaging and high-quality films for our website, marketing campaigns, and in-gallery displays. This includes bespoke content for our 70,000 members. Your tasks will involve capturing footage, recording, editing, and archiving 4K content to professional standards. You will generate ideas and produce content for YouTube, develop new formats for digital channels, and collaborate with internal teams and external partners to align video projects with exhibitions and key messages. Additionally, you will support audio projects such as podcasts and exhibition soundscapes, maintain standards for safe handling of objects, and provide technical advice on video and audio content.

About you: As a creative and organized video professional, you have proven experience in filming and editing high-quality video content, ideally with cameras such as Sony FX6 or FS7. You possess advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects, and experience in creating graphics using Illustrator and Photoshop. You are capable of managing multiple projects, meeting deadlines, and efficiently managing your time. Strong communication skills are essential, as is the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and nurture performances from contributors.
