Role Summary
- Coordinating community engagement projects and spearheading new community organising efforts
- Delivering on existing projects, such as building a network of garment workers and supporting their engagement with policymakers
- Initiating community organising, such as door-knocking to engage community members, organising community meetings, and supporting community campaigns
Role Requirements
- Past experience in advocacy or community engagement, proficiency in local languages like Punjabi or Gujarati are a plus
- Strong interpersonal skills, a deep understanding of workers' rights, resilience in facing challenges, and knowledge of confidentiality and safeguarding principles

The Role: We are seeking a Community Organiser and Engagement Lead to sustain the legacy of our campaigns in Leicester, focusing on empowering the community and amplifying the voices of garment workers. This role involves coordinating existing community engagement projects and leading new community organising efforts.
Job Requirements: - Deliver on existing projects, including building a network of garment workers, supporting their engagement with policymakers, and assisting in data gathering and research. - Initiate community organising, including door-knocking to identify and engage community members, organising community meetings, and supporting community campaigns. - Training in community organising will be provided.
Person Specification: - Experience in advocacy or community engagement, with a good command of local languages such as Punjabi or Gujarati preferred. - Strong interpersonal skills, understanding of workers' rights, and resilience in facing challenges. - Knowledge of confidentiality and safeguarding principles is crucial.
Benefits: - Salary of £23,067 for a 3-day week (21 hours), with flexibility in hours, including evenings and weekends. - 6% employer and 4% employee pension contribution. - 33 days holiday FTE, including bank holidays.
