What will you be doing?

This role is to play a full part in the Trustee Board which sets the direction and governance of the charity. We are also looking for a person with skills and experience in fundraising to lead our efforts to more than reduce our deficit and extend our reach accordingly. The strategy is defined and much of the ground work has been done; it has to be taken forward now. The person appointed should be prepared to put a reasonable amount of time into driving this initiative alongside the normal duties of the board.

What are we looking for?

Experience in the conduct/governance of another charity focused on welfare is an advantage but not essential. Experience of shaping and mobilising fundraising initiatives is important but we will consider committed trustees with wider experience in the sector.

What difference will you make?

Last year we put £1m back into the local economy and helped 2,000 people / families in difficulties. We know that there are 7,000 plus people in the district in some level of deprivation and as much as £15m of unclaimed benefits. Our ambition is to unlock more of that impact.
