Strategic Growth Executive Volunteer Role Description The Africa Health Organisation (AHO) will be 25 years old on 14 August 2025. We seek Strategic Growth Executive Volunteers to join us in celebrating our Silver Jubilee by identifying and recruiting new members of the Africa Health Organisation (AHO). Role Type:This role combines strategic board-level influence with an active executive remit in shaping and supporting AHO’s Growth Strategy. In Africa, we seek volunteers to recruit members from local authorities, businesses, students from universities, colleges and high schools, faith and religious organisations, community-based, local and international NGOS, regional organisations and individuals. In the UK and the Diaspora, we are looking for members from local authorities such as Public Health Directors from every county and district, Diversity Officers from every city and town, Integrated care boards (ICBs), students from universities, colleges and high schools, individuals and communities, charities and voluntary organisations, religious, community-based NGOs, business and individuals interested in AHO mission. Duties and Responsibilities
Board Member (non-remunerated): Participates in board meetings, strategic decision-making, and organisational oversight. Executive Remit (voluntary): Leads or advises on strategic growth areas, including fundraising, partnerships, marketing, regional expansion and membership growth. Governance & Growth: Acts as a bridge between board strategy and growth execution, supporting the Secretariat or senior team with direction and insight. External Relations: Represents the board and AHO in external stakeholder engagements, including donor relations, investor meetings, and strategic partnerships.

What are we looking for?
Education, Skills and Experience
Strategic leadership with pan-African insight and cultural sensitivity 10–15 years’ leadership experience across sales, marketing, or membership roles in Africa, UK, US, EU or global development. Energetic, positive, professional, and self-motivated personality with adequate oral and written communication skills required. Experience within an association membership department specialising in sales and membership recruitment is a plus. Proven success in income growth, partnership building, and brand transformation. Expertise in digital platforms, CRM systems, and data-led decision making. Deep experience in sales, marketing, and engagement in mission-led or development contexts. Must have a good sense of humour and interest in advancing the AHO mission.
Languages requirements The ability to speak one of Africa's widely spoken languages would be an added advantage e.g. Afrikaans, Amharic, Arabic, Bemba, Berber, Chewa, Chinese, Dinka, English, French, Fula, Fulani, German, Greek, Hausa, Hindi, Igbo, Italian, Japanese, Kinyarwanda, Kirundi, Kongo, Korean, Lingala, Malagasy, Mandinka, Nambia, Ndebele, Nyanja, Oromo, Portuguese, Russian, Sango, Sesotho, Shona, Somali, Spanish, Swahili, Swati, Thai, Tigrinya, Tsonga, Tswana, Venda, Vietnamese, Xhosa, Yoruba, Zulu, etc. You are still welcome to apply if you don't speak any of the above languages.
