Volunteer Videographer to capture Wellbeing event for Survivors of Human Trafficking

What will you be doing?

We are seeking a talented and compassionate volunteer videographer to capture key moments at our wellbeing event on 19th May, which supports survivors of human trafficking. The videographer will play a critical role in documenting the event in a sensitive, trauma-informed manner, ensuring that all footage reflects the dignity and respect of the survivors attending. Your work will be integral to the events success, and your footage will have a lasting impact on the foundations mission and future outreach.   Your primary responsibility will be to capture both candid and planned video footage of the event, focusing on key moments such as wellness activities, survivor stories, group discussions, and interactions between participants. The goal is to create a visual narrative that highlights the events impact, showing the healing, empowerment, and support that take place throughout the day. As you film, it will be essential to approach your work with care, ensuring the privacy and emotional well-being of all attendees, particularly survivors, are always respected. The videos will be used for a variety of purposes, including promoting the ROMILDAMOR Foundations work, raising awareness about human trafficking, supporting future fundraising efforts, and sharing the powerful stories of survivors. The videographers work will contribute significantly to the foundations ability to continue offering essential support to those affected by trafficking and inspire others to get involved in the cause.  Your approach to filming will need to be subtle, discreet, and trauma-sensitive. Since many of the events participants are survivors of human trafficking, its important to be aware of the emotional impact of the video production process. You should be able to capture footage in a way that prioritizes their comfort and wellbeing.  The videographer will be expected to arrive early on the day of the event to ensure they are prepared for all scheduled activities. They will also need to stay until the event concludes to capture closing moments and provide any necessary footage for wrap-up videos. You will bring your own camera and video equipment, but the foundation will provide the space and time needed for filming.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a volunteer videographer with a combination of technical skills and sensitivity to trauma-informed practices. The ideal candidate should have experience in event videography and be capable of capturing moments with respect and care, particularly in a setting involving survivors of human trafficking. Below are the skills and experience we believe are essential for the role: 1. Proven Videography Experience: The volunteer must have previous experience in videography, particularly at events. A strong portfolio showcasing your ability to capture compelling, high-quality video content is required. We are looking for someone who can both capture candid moments and manage planned shots. 2. Technical Expertise: The candidate should be proficient in using professional video equipment, including cameras, lighting, and audio equipment, with an understanding of the technical aspects of filming (e.g., composition, framing, lighting, sound). Additionally, experience with post-production editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar is essential to ensure the final product is polished and professional. 3. Trauma-Informed Approach: Sensitivity to the emotional needs of survivors is a key skill for this role. Experience working with or around vulnerable populations, or understanding the principles of trauma-informed care, is highly desirable. You will need to take a respectful, discreet, and empathetic approach while filming, being mindful of how your presence and the process may affect the participants. 4. Discretion and Sensitivity: Its crucial that you approach this role with tact and understanding, particularly when filming sensitive moments. You should be able to capture the story of the event while maintaining the privacy and emotional wellbeing of the participants. The ability to film without intruding or causing discomfort to the survivors is paramount. 5. Collaboration and Communication: Strong communication skills are necessary to collaborate with the event coordinator, other volunteers, and the communication team. You will need to work closely with these stakeholders to ensure that the content aligns with the events objectives, tone, and message. Being receptive to feedback and able to work in a team environment is important.
