Role Summary

  • Manage operations, streamline processes, and identify bottlenecks for the in-house Accelerator developing carbon sequestration projects.
  • Build partnerships across teams, develop and implement system-wide solutions.
  • Work closely with the Head of Operations and Strategy.
  • Full-time remote job with $100,000-$120,000 annual salary plus equity.

Role Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in operations, supply chain, or program management.
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Demonstrated international experience, with flexibility across time zones, cultures, and disciplines.
  • Experience with organizational transformation initiatives, complex operational improvement programs, and structured project development methodologies.
  • Expertise in analyzing operational bottlenecks and implementing solutions.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of the environmental programs, carbon markets, or forestry and Stage-gate approaches.

Job Mission

Terraformation is on a mission to restore native forests to capture carbon, revive ecosystems, and support communities worldwide. Our in-house Accelerator develops high-impact carbon sequestration projects. We seek an exceptional Accelerator Operations Manager who can build strong partnerships across teams to help inform and execute critical improvements to our Accelerator while efficiently leading internal stakeholders through existing processes. The ideal candidate will guide stakeholders through approaches and processes to accelerate project registration and sales while identifying and analyzing operational bottlenecks. Working closely with the Head of Operations and Strategy and collaborating across functions - from project leads to technical experts - you will develop and implement solutions to these challenges, driving change management to ensure successful adoption. Your ability to both maintain operational excellence and lead improvement initiatives through effective cross-functional coordination will be critical for this role.

Location: Remote; US, EST preferred (or GMT) 

Salary: $100,000-$120,000 plus equity (depending on location and experience)

Responsibilities (for Phase 2)

Process Excellence & Coordination Guide internal stakeholders through Accelerator processes, serving as the primary point of contact for process questions and clarification. Define & maintain  clear documentation of Accelerator requirements, processes, and best practices that are accessible and useful for all stakeholders. Work closely with operations leadership to define a systemic approach for alignment for cross-functional teams all contributing to carbon project development; lead the tactical implementation of the approach that ensures project timelines, milestones, and success metrics are clearly established, accessible to all teams, and understood. Enhance and orient internal stakeholders to shared tools that support resource planning and allocation, ensuring technical experts manage multiple projects while maintaining quality standards that meet internal and external requirements. Maintain frameworks to ensure processes and deliverables are fit for purpose and meet both internal standards and external requirements. Support technical experts in streamlining requirements and clarifying roles/responsibilities within Terraformation and across local consultants and implementing partners. Create, maintain, and refine templates, tools, and resources to support processes. Operational Improvement & Reporting Identify operational bottlenecks through stakeholder input and analysis, developing and implementing practical solutions. Support project and portfolio reporting, highlighting progress, challenges, and trends to inform strategic decision-making. Drive approved cross-functional changes that advance company goals, guiding stakeholders through transitions. Monitor the effectiveness of implemented changes and adjust the approach as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

8+ years of experience in operations, supply chain, or program management with demonstrated success in business process improvement and change management Bachelor's degree required Experience working internationally with demonstrated ability to work flexibly across time zones, cultures, and disciplines; some travel Exceptional cross-functional leadership with proven ability to build trust and  influence others Demonstrated expertise in analyzing operational bottlenecks and implementing solutions that enhance organizational efficiency Proven track record of translating strategic objectives into executable plans across complex, multi-stage projects Demonstrated ability to guide stakeholders through organizational and process changes  Experience designing and implementing international development (knowledge of the project cycle), forest-based, or carbon-certified projects in complex environments

Preferred Qualifications

10+ years of experience in operations, sales operations, supply chain, or program management, with exposure to environmental programs, carbon markets, or forestry 5+ years of experience leading organizational transformation initiatives or complex operational improvement programs, utilizing structured project development methodologies (feasibility analysis, financing, implementation, monitoring, and reporting) Experience with stage-gate approaches is a plus.
