What will you be doing?
We are seeking compassionate and understanding Volunteer Peer Support Group Facilitators to help run our support groups for autistic and ADHD individuals. Our support groups are designed to create a safe and welcoming space where people can connect, share experiences, and feel supported. Support groups are held online via video calls, in-person in Basingstoke, Hampshire, and through text-based messaging on WhatsApp. Facilitators will play a key role in guiding conversations, encouraging participation, and ensuring that group members feel valued and heard.
What are we looking for?
The ideal Volunteer Peer Support Group Facilitator is compassionate, patient, and non-judgemental, with strong communication and active listening skills. They should be comfortable facilitating discussions, offering emotional support, and maintaining confidentiality. Being late-diagnosed autistic or ADHD is highly valued, as is any background in peer support, mental health, or community engagement. Passion for empowering the AuDHD community is essential, as well as reliability and the ability to create a safe, inclusive space. Basic tech skills for online sessions are beneficial, and training will be provided where needed.
What difference will you make?
As a Volunteer Peer Support Group Facilitator with AuDHD UK, you will have a direct and meaningful impact on the lives of autistic and ADHD individuals by providing safe, supportive spaces for them to connect and share experiences. Your role will help combat isolation, promote understanding, and offer emotional support, ensuring that AuDHD individuals feel heard and valued. By fostering positive discussions and signposting resources, you will contribute to their well-being and empowerment, ultimately supporting AuDHD UK’s mission to reduce autism and ADHD-related suicides and improve access to essential services.
