What will you be doing?
1st Place Children and Parents’ Centre is a highly regarded Family Hub and provider of early years education. We aim to provide consistent and excellent services to the surrounding community through outreach work, the nursery and a variety of projects with families with children, with a focus on those under 5 years of age. We are looking for an Honorary Treasurer for the Board of Trustees to join us in to take over from the outgoing Treasurer. The Treasurer is chair of the 1st Place Finance & General Purposes Sub-Committee, and is responsible on behalf of the Board of Trustees for oversight of budgets, internal management accounts and annual financial statements as well as ensuring that appropriate accounting procedures and controls are in place. This person will need to have an understanding of the voluntary sector, governance of a charity, charity finance and risk management. The ability to be strategic and able to communicate and consult effectively with other trustees and senior managers is key to the success of this role. Leadership experience will be a huge benefit and the willingness to devote time and effort to the organisation is a must.

What difference will you make?
As Honorary Treasurer you will support the Director, Business Manager wider Board to develop the 1st Place Business Plan for the next three years. You will Chair Finance & General Purposes sub-committee meetings, and report back to the wider Board on key areas of focus
