What will you be doing?

Key challenges/goals

Fund raising Oversee the development and implementation of the centres strategic aligning with the needs of the community Grant applications Recruiting trustees and volunteers

Role We are looking for a Chairman to lead and motivate a committed team of trustees (the management committee) to ensure the smooth operation and strategic development of the Village Centre.   The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years experience in a leadership role and will be required to:

Act as primary representative of the Centre, building relationships with local stakeholders, donors and authorities Chair committee meetings, including public meetings and AGM Produce an Annual report Ensure the centres operations comply with all legal and regulatory requirements

What are we looking for?

Skills Financial acumen is essential. Problem solving. IT literate, Strong Leadership and organisational skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Strategic thinking and problem solving capabilities. A passion for community engagement and improving local services. Knowledge of charity governance or a willingness to learn Experience  At least 3 years experience in a similar role Qualities Compassionate, believes in community, forward thinking, help to shape and oversee events, activities, and initiatives  Understands figures and the importance of running a small charity Experience in accounts and budgeting, leading and motivating a group of volunteers and staff.

Your leadership and commitment will ensure we continue to provide and extend our range of much-needed support and services to our local community. Our centre makes a big difference to those in the community, especially the elderly, isolated and lonely we provide 500 plus hot meals a week to the community we encourage a sense of community facilitating companionship, reducing the potential risk of social isolation and loneliness. 34 different groups and clubs use our rooms, our therapy room hosts mental health sessions, therapy treatments and drop in sessions from Age UK and Dementia Oxfordshire
