We are Barrow Farm Riding and Carriage Driving for the Disabled, a purpose built centre in Highwood, 7 miles South West of Chelmsford. We’re an independent charity, a company limited by guarantee and a member of the national Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA UK). We support over 200 participants each year with the help of over 100 volunteers and an annual spend of around £300,000. We provide our participants fun, fitness, friendship and fulfilment through the use of our fabulous facilities and specially trained team of horses and ponies. We can never meet demand for our services and are excitingly working to further enhance and develop our offering to cater to more and new needs. In 2026 we will celebrate 50 years of successful operation. Now is an exciting time to join us on our journey in the role of Social Media, Marketing and Communications lead on a voluntary basis. Being a trustee is a role that offers significant rewards, from personal satisfaction and skill development to enhanced professional reputation and the ability to make a lasting impact.
