What will you be doing?

Key Responsibilities: Clinical Supervision: Provide regular, structured supervision to a team of trainee psychologists. Offer feedback, support, and direction regarding cases, therapy techniques, and ethical issues. Case Review: Conduct case reviews with volunteers to ensure that clients receive appropriate and evidence-based care. Discuss any complex cases and assist in the development of treatment plans. Professional Standards: Ensure that trainee psychologists are adhering to the ethical and professional standards of BPS. Provide guidance on ethical dilemmas, confidentiality, and safeguarding issues. Support & Mentorship: Offer individual mentorship and professional development to volunteers, including guidance on career progression and additional areas of expertise. Monitoring & Reporting: Assist the team in maintaining accurate records and client outcomes as part of our continuous improvement process. Provide feedback on volunteer performance and make recommendations for improvement where necessary. Collaboration: Work closely with the Clinical Lead and other team members to ensure a holistic, coordinated approach to client care.

What are we looking for?

Required: A relevant psychology qualification (e.g., MSc in Psychology or equivalent). Registered with a professional body such as the HCPC, BPS, or UKCP. Experience in providing psychological supervision or mentorship to junior professionals or volunteers. In-depth knowledge of therapeutic practices, mental health conditions, and psychological assessment tools. Strong communication skills and ability to offer constructive feedback. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Understanding of ethical and legal considerations in psychological practice. Personal Attributes: Compassionate and empathetic with a genuine commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of individuals facing mental health challenges. Ability to work flexibly and manage a varied caseload. Strong organizational and time management skills. Proactive, solution-focused, and able to work with minimal supervision.
