We are looking for a Microelectronics Architect in the Microelectronics Section, Data Systems, Microelectronics and Components Technology Division, Electrical Department, Directorate of Technology, Engineering and Quality.
The Role: You will be providing expert technical support and consultancy to ESA projects, programmes and general studies in the field of microelectronics front-ends, wireline and wireless interfaces, converters, FPGAs, microprocessors and IP cores throughout all project phases. You will also participate in feasibility studies, project reviews and evaluation of procurement proposals. You will identify critical development problems and assist in their resolution. You will contribute to the definition of technology development requirements and work plans for the Agency’s technology programmes. You will define, initiate and manage R&D activities covering both long- and short-term needs.
Job Requirements: You should have a master’s degree or higher in electronic engineering or physics. You should have at least ten years of experience in end-to-end design, system integration and testing of ICs and FPGAs as well as reusable IP cores. In particular, competences in the following domains are required: signal/power converters (ADC/DAC, TDC, PMIC, etc.), phase locked loops, frontends (detector, communication, radar, etc.), wireline, optical and/or wireless transceivers mixed-signal/RF ASIC design, simulation, layout and tools digital FPGA and/or ASIC design, simulation, synthesis, layout and tools design methodology and tools for reusable IP cores architecture definition, analysis and development for integrated circuits from high-level application domain requirements integrated circuit functional, electrical and environmental testing.
