What will you be doing?

Do you have experience in accountancy, bookkeeping or possess a good understanding of finance and would like to use your skills to make a genuine difference in your local community? Wessex Community Bank, based in Fareham, Hampshire, serves individuals across central southern England with inclusive financial products such as savings accounts, ISAs, and personal loans. We’re committed to honest, community-driven banking that puts people first. We’re looking for someone with sound financial awareness to join us in a non-operational oversight role. You don’t need to be a financial expert, but a good understanding of financial principles and the ability to review and interpret reports is important. This role involves reviewing quarterly financial data, offering insight and guidance to the board, and helping ensure strong financial governance. You’ll work closely with the CEO and attend monthly virtual board meetings, with one in-person meeting each quarter to maintain engagement. Whether you’re semi-retired, working part-time, or simply looking to give back, your experience could make a real difference.  

What are we looking for?

Accountancy qualification with familiarity of a profit and loss accounts, bank reconciliation and reporting

Your expertise will help to guide the board in areas such as financial accountability, compliance and regulatory oversight.
