What will you be doing?
We are looking for a Finance professional that will maintain an overview of Afrikindness’s financial affairs, ensuring its financial viability and ensuring that proper financial records and procedures are maintained. We are looking for a strategic thinker who will use their financial expertise to oversee our financial health and play an active role in areas such as forecasting, setting budgets, and liaising with auditors. Good Knowledge of charity finance is important as your input will be critical as we mature as a charity and increase our activities and reach globally. The Finance team will take an active part in the financial decision-making for the charity. We would like to appoint experienced professionals with complementary skills in finance, risk, strategy, investmennt and business across the charity and commercial sectors, to join our executive board in leading and supporting the charity to deliver our goals. What are we looking for?
As well as sitting on the executive board, you will also: Key Responsibilities:
Provide financial oversight and risk management support for the charity Assist in developing investment strategies aligned with our mission and ethical standards Monitor financial performance, budgets, and forecasts Identify and assess financial risks, recommending mitigation strategies Support compliance with financial regulations and reporting obligations Advise on sustainable funding approaches and financial growth Attend occasional board/finance meetings and provide expert input on financial matters Time Commitment: Flexible, remote options available.Ideal for finance professionals passionate about social impact.
What we are looking for
A finance professional preferably with experience in risk management, investment strategy. Knowledge of charity finance is an advantage. Otherwise, an enthusiasm to learn, drawing from sound commercial experience, and an understanding of SMEs. Strategic thinker with an ability to balance risk and opportunity. Clear communicator with the ability to bring financial information alive to non-finance specialists. Willing to play an active role in areas such as forecasting, setting budgets, liaising with auditors, investment partners, government bodies and local authorities.
