Organisation summary: The Quality Management and Assurance Section (TEC-QPQ) at ESTEC is responsible for upholding and improving quality and supply chain management expertise. As part of the senior quality management team, your inputs will directly impact the operations of the European Space Agency.
Role Summary:
- Provide specialist support in quality management, focusing on the quality management system of ESA’s directorates.
- Ensure ISO 9001 management system operations and improvements are in compliance.
- Communicate effectively with all quality managers to identify and utilise management system synergies.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by leading reviews of existing processes and tools, defining new processes and supporting process owners with quality statistic analysis.

The Quality Management and Assurance Section (TEC-QPQ), located at ESTEC, is responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of quality and supply chain management expertise. It supports corporate quality management, operating under the authority of the Directorate of Technology, Engineering and Quality (D/TEC) and the ESA Quality Manager within the Quality Department (TEC-Q).
In this position, you will provide expert support to the Section’s activities in the area of quality, with a specific focus on the quality management system of ESA’s directorates. Your main tasks will relate to the development, implementation and maintenance of the ISO 9001 management system.
Your tasks and responsibilities will include: providing expertise in the quality management field; ensuring management system operations and improvements in compliance with the ISO 9001 standard; reporting on the status of the management system to the Quality Manager and high-level management; liaising with all quality managers within ESA directorates to identify and exploit management system synergies; leading reviews of existing internal processes and tools, defining new processes and collecting and analysing quality statistics to support process owners with continuous improvement and further optimisation of internal operations at ESA.
