Volunteer Management Team Leader

What will you be doing?

 Our current Team Leader, who pioneered the establishment of Readeasy Sheffield in October 2021 is stepping down in March 2025. We need an enthusiastic new leader to take us to the next stage of our development, setting goals and planning activities so we can fulfil our mission of delivering reading coaching to as many people as possible in Sheffield. We are affiiated to the charity Readeasy UK which provides with training, policy framework and support and guidance to the Leader via a Regional Adviser. We deliver free, confidential 1:1 sessions twice-weekly at approved venues to meet the readers needs. We currently have 20 carefully vetted and trained coaches who use the Shannon Trust Turning Pages Programme to coach people from scratch. You will lead a highly committed Management Team each handling specific essential roles, including, Secretary, Treasurer, Fundraiser, Safeguarding Campion and Literacy Specialist and a small team of coordinator and provide a link between the Management function and front-line work with readers

What are we looking for?

Strong leadership and team management skills and experience with ability to motivate and inspire confidence and trust in others. Ability to think and act strategically, set goals, plan work and delegate Willingness to abide by Read Easy policies and procedures  Open attitude that encourages two-way communication and willingness to ask for and offer support to the Team A non-judgemental attitude and respect for others, with a commitment to equality and diversity to make everyone feel valued and included Energy and Enthusiasm for our mission with an average of five hours/week to commit to the role
