What will you be doing?
In this role you will:
lead by using social media effectively to raise awareness and publicise your local group; and be instrumental in raising awareness by talking to people generally about Read Easy.
Your responsibilities:
Liaise with the Management Team to decide on the group’s publicity needs. Maintain the group’s Facebook page. Maintain social media platforms to raise your group’s profile Identify any specific opportunities for publicity locally or via national events. Provide stories and photographs for the Read Easy UK website and newsletter about the group’s activities and achievements.
What are we looking for?
You will be creative, determined and passionate about communications, and bringing people together. We are looking for someone who has previous experience in dealing with the media and in public relations and is confident using social media as well as local media. We need you to draw attention to our group and raise its profile, occasionally distributing leaflets, posters and other resources provided by Read Easy UK to help get the message out there into your community about the life-changing journey of learning to read. Once the local community and media hear about the thousands of adults who can’t read in the area, it will be your responsibility to make sure that our Read Easy group is able to capitalise on this attention!
