What will you be doing?
You will have the opportunity to make a huge impact on the lives of children from disadvantaged communities around the world! The Chairperson leads Aprender’s Board of Trustees, ensuring strong governance while driving strategy, securing funding, and supporting operations. With recent progress in governance, partnerships, and a bold 2025-2026 strategy focused on digital and AI-driven teacher training, Aprender is poised for growth. As a small but high-impact charity, the Chair plays a key role in ensuring sustainability and long-term success.
What are we looking for?
Essential:
Proven experience chairing an organisation or leading at a senior executive level. Hands-on experience with fundraising, financial management, and strategic planning. Strong governance knowledge, including statutory reporting for charities and companies. Demonstrated ability to build relationships with funders, stakeholders, and partners. Experience leading teams in a resource-constrained environment. Strong leadership skills with a track record of driving organisational growth.
Desirable:
Knowledge of UK company and charity law. Experience in international development, education, or humanitarian sectors. Familiarity with compliance and risk management in small charities. Ability to mentor and develop emerging leadership within a non-profit setting. Understanding of digital fundraising and marketing strategies.
