Organisation Summary

The Space Training Team is a leading provider of comprehensive training for astronauts from agencies all around the world. The team is engaged with the training of payload operations on the Columbus European Laboratory. The team also offers specialized training in Robotics and Space Analogues. Role Summary

  • Design, develop and produce multimedia content for the training of astronauts and ground-based support personnel
  • Produce videos and other multimedia contents for public outreach and space training initiatives

Role Requirements

  • University students (preferably in final or penultimate year at Master’s level)
  • Proficiency in Adobe CC, especially Premiere; good camera and multimedia/design skills
  • Ability to work in English or French, knowledge of another Member State language is a plus
  • Experience in infographics creation and/or working with technical/scientific info
  • Experience in using Learning Management Systems like Moodle, Blackboard, Canvas, etc.
  • Audio processing skills are welcome but not mandatory

The Space Training Team is responsible for the training of European, International Partner (NASA, ROSCOSMOS, JAXA, Canadian Space Agency) and other astronauts about the systems and payloads (experiments) of the Columbus European Laboratory. In addition, the Space Training Team conducts specialist training in Robotics and Space Analogues. In addition to astronauts, we also train the Ground Support Personnel, or communicators, who support the operation of systems and payloads on board the International Space Station (ISS).

We are looking for talented, enthusiastic interns with great multimedia skills (video, graphics, design) to be involved in exciting projects in the Space Training Team. You might be involved in making videos that will be watched by astronauts on board the International Space Station or preparing media for training material for astronauts and the ground-based communicators who support them. There is always a new challenge, and new opportunities. Are you ready for them?

Your tasks might include filming astronauts and editing material for production of public outreach and space training videos, as well as developing assorted multimedia (eg. infographics, illustrations, animations) for use in videos, PowerPoint slides, E-Learning, posters and other purposes.

You must be a university student, preferably in your final or second-to-last year of a university course at Master’s level and you need to remain enrolled at your University for the entire duration of the internship. The working languages of the Agency are English and French. A good knowledge of one of these is required. Knowledge of another Member State language would be an asset.

Essential skills: Proficient in using Adobe CC (especially Premiere) or equivalent; Good camera skills (Photo and video); Good general multimedia/design skills.

Helpful: Experience in creating infographics and/or working with technical/scientific information; Experience of using Learning Management Systems (eg Moodle, Blackboard, Canvas); Audio processing skills.
