Our organisation is pioneering in the realm of Positioning, Navigation and Timing (PNT) and Geo-location systems. We form a vital part of the Directorate of Technology, Engineering, and Quality.

Role Summary:

  • Provide expert technical support and consultancy in the field of navigation
  • Participate in feasibility studies, project reviews and the evaluation of procurement proposals.
  • Identify critical development problems and assist in their resolution.


Role Requirements:

  • A master’s degree in telecommunications engineering, navigation, computer science or aerospace is required
  • Experience in fields such as global navigation systems like Galileo, GNSS signals and receiver technologies, advanced signal processing, alternative PNT solutions, organising testing campaigns and complex system validation
  • Eligibility to obtain EU personal security clearance from the relevant national authority
  • Proficiency in English or French

We are looking for a Navigation Systems Engineer in the Navigation Systems Implementation and Validation Section, End-to-End Systems Division, Systems Department, Directorate of Technology, Engineering and Quality. Our organization is exciting as we provide support to the Agency’s activities relating to the implementation and validation of Positioning, Navigation and Timing (PNT) and Geo-location systems.

The role entails providing expert technical support and consultancy to ESA projects, programmes and general studies in the field of navigation throughout all project phases. You will be participating in feasibility studies, project reviews and the evaluation of procurement proposals. You will also be identifying critical development problems and assisting in their resolution.

Job requirements include a master’s degree in telecommunications engineering, navigation, computer science or aerospace. You must have a background and solid experience in several fields such as global navigation systems such as Galileo, as well as GNSS signals and associated receiver technologies; advanced signal processing and estimation techniques; alternative PNT solutions such as LEO-PNT, positioning based on terrestrial links and hybrid GNSS; organisation of testing campaigns and end-to-end validation of complex systems.
