What will you be doing?

The role will be searching and identifying people, generally found on Facebook in Groups who take part in Challenge Events throughout the country. This includes events such as Marathons, Runs, Activities and many others. We want you to trawl Facebook and potential other social media platforms that may apply, looking for people who take part in such events.  They generally have Groups where they communicate. The idea would be to then approach them, letting them know about any of our 750+ events we have to offer which are available across the country. The reason we want to do this is because we are a charity without a well known public profile so most of the people who take part in these events won't know about us.    Usually if participants don't directly secure their own place in the event organisers own ballot when the events are opened for registration, they then rely on finding a charity place - and we frequently get overlooked during these times. There are always more people looking for places in popular events than their are places available and we always have at least five places available for each event, so instead of waiting for participants to find us, we want to find them first and then approach them to potentially offer them one of our charity places.  These places are potentially a vital source of income for our charity and we are looking to capitalise on this resource to maximum benefit.   We are looking for a social media-savvy volunteer to help manage our online presence, particularly on Facebook. This role will involve creating engaging content, growing our audience, and ensuring our messaging effectively supports our mission to empower young people. Your responsibilities will include creating and scheduling posts, engaging with our audience, responding to messages, and helping to develop a social media strategy that increases awareness of our work. You will play a key role in promoting our events, fundraising efforts, and success stories.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for someone with:

Experience managing Facebook pages or other social media platforms. Strong writing and communication skills with an ability to create engaging content. Knowledge of social media strategies, analytics, and audience engagement techniques. Creativity, reliability, and a passion for supporting young people. The ability to work independently while aligning with the charity’s mission and values.

What difference will you make?

This is a really valuable role to our charity as it has the potential to contribute financially to our funding in a very substantial way if you are successful in your quest. The funding we achieve from your results is fed directly into providing the service we offer as a charity.   By strengthening our social media presence, you will help increase awareness, engage a wider audience, and attract supporters, volunteers, and donors. Your work will directly contribute to the charity’s growth, ensuring more people benefit from our services and opportunities.
