What will you be doing?
Loneliness among young adults is a silent epidemic, affecting over 1 million people aged 16-34 in the UK each week. Through our #TheLonelyMillion campaign, we’ve been working to challenge misconceptions about loneliness, highlight its real impact on young people, and push for meaningful change. In December, we launched a nationwide billboard campaign across London, Manchester, Birmingham, and other major UK cities, reaching over 40 million people. Our campaign has since gained momentum, leading to a landmark discussion in Parliament where we brought together MPs, policymakers, researchers, and young adults to explore what needs to be done. But raising awareness is only the first step - we need action. That’s where you come in. Key Responsibilities: As an Ambassador, you’ll be a crucial part of this movement, helping us raise awareness, mobilise communities, and advocate for solutions that address loneliness at scale.
Promotion & Advocacy – Regularly champion our mission through social media, public speaking engagements, and networking events, using persuasive communication to inspire action.
Networking – Build and nurture relationships with influencers, media personnel, and potential partners to amplify our reach and establish strategic collaborations.
Events & Engagements – Represent the organisation at key events, conferences, and meetings, playing an active role in both organising and participating in activities that promote our cause.
Feedback & Insights – Act as a bridge between the public and our organisation, sharing insights to refine our outreach strategies and inform future campaigns.
Collaboration – Work closely with our team, particularly marketing and communications, to align on messaging, campaigns, and promotional activities.
Resource Mobilisation – Support fundraising efforts by leveraging your network to connect us with potential donors, sponsors, and partners.
What are we looking for?
Qualities & Experience: - Experienced – At least 3+ years of skilled work in a relevant field, such as campaigning, event management, communications, or advocacy. - Passionate Advocate – A strong belief in our mission, ideally with a personal connection or deep understanding of the impact of loneliness. - Strong Networker – Existing relationships with media, influencers, or community leaders are a plus. - Effective Communicator – Confident in public speaking, presentations, and interpersonal engagement. - Digital Savvy – Familiarity with social media platforms and online communication tools. - Strategic Thinker – Able to assess opportunities, identify key audiences, and contribute to long-term impact. - Team Player – Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
What difference will you make?
As an Ambassador, you will be at the forefront of our outreach efforts, playing a key role in ensuring that loneliness among young adults is recognised, discussed, and tackled. Your contributions will directly help shape public perception, community engagement, and strategic partnerships, driving real change across London and beyond.
