The Woodland Trust is the UK's leading woodland conservation charity dedicated to creating a world where trees and woods thrive for both people and nature. Our mission involves engaging and inspiring individuals to contribute toward tackling the nature and climate crisis through the protection, restoration, and creation of essential woodland habitats.

The Role: As a PR Officer at The Woodland Trust, you will be instrumental in developing our PR campaigns to raise awareness of our brand and inspire people with our work. You will be responsible for all our regional PR and sector press activity, manage media relationships, and collaborate with communications leads across the UK to deliver effective PR campaigns. Additionally, you will support senior PR officers with filming and national news opportunities, brief and support internal spokespeople with media opportunities, manage and respond to media inbox enquiries, and create comprehensive reporting on PR activity. This role is a part-time position working 30 hours per week and includes a mix of working from home and at our main office in Grantham, Lincolnshire.

Job Requirements: We are looking for candidates who have experience leading and delivering PR activity, a good understanding of brand image, experience writing press releases and developing PR assets, strong communication skills, and the ability to build and manage key media relationships. Experience working in a busy press office environment and strong collaboration skills are essential. Qualifications in PR, Communications, or a relevant degree, or equivalent on-the-job experience are required.

Benefits: Joining our team means you'll be a big part of tackling environmental and climate issues. We offer enhanced employer pension, life assurance, flexible and hybrid working options, generous annual leave, enhanced parental pay, and an employee assistance programme.

Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion: We strive to better reflect society and the communities we work in. People of colour and disabled people are currently under-represented across the environment and conservation sector, and we particularly encourage applications from these groups.
