Role Summary
- Work on a 2-year Collections Storage Project, focusing on reviewing and reorganizing the museum's stored collections.
- Maintain and review the long-term loans program within the project, while coordinating closely with curators and the project team.
Role Requirements
- Prior experience in managing incoming/outgoing loans within museums and arranging transport for museum objects.
- Knowledge of import/export requirements, UK Government Indemnity Scheme and commercial insurance.
- Understanding of national/international museum standards for security, display, and storage of collections.
- Able to prioritize effectively and deliver under tight deadlines.

The Role: We are embarking on a two-year Collections Storage Project aimed at reviewing our stored collections. This includes enhancing documentation, care, and accountability, reorganizing both offsite and onsite storage, and reviewing long-term and historic loans. As a Collection Registrar, you will play a crucial role in this project, working closely with Curators and the Project Team to maintain and review the programme of long-term loans into our collection.
Job Requirements: The ideal candidate will have experience managing incoming and/or outgoing loans within museum collections and arranging transport for museum objects. Knowledge of import and export requirements, the UK Government Indemnity Scheme, and commercial insurance is essential. You should also have a thorough understanding of national and international museum standards for the safe movement, security, display, and storage of museum collections. Strong prioritization skills and the ability to deliver successfully under tight deadlines are crucial.
