Role Summary:

Role Requirements:

  • A Masters's degree in a relevant subject.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work well under pressure and in a team environment.
  • Tactful, good judgement, and discretion.
  • Diplomatic experience, preferably in a Cabinet context.


Application Process Details:

  • Knowledge of English or French is mandatory, and knowledge of another Member State language will be considered an asset.

This is a non-renewable post for a limited duration of 4 years at ESA Headquarters, Paris, France. The role is a Policy Officer in the Council and Member States Support Division, Director General’s Cabinet, Director General’s Services.

The role entails providing intelligence, analysis and dedicated assessments to support ESA management in the preparation of high-level interactions/meetings with Member States. This includes the preparation of briefing and background inputs, liaising, as required, with the relevant ESA directorates to ensure coordinated preparation ESA-wide. You will also be responsible for maintaining up-to-date reports on relevant countries, monitoring in particular their political evolution, economic situation, national space and related strategies, and plans.

Job requirements include a master's degree in a relevant domain, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as a proven ability to interact with different stakeholders. You will also be required to work effectively in a team environment and under pressure. Good judgment, tact and discretion are further necessary qualities. Diplomatic experience, preferably in a Cabinet setting, would be considered an asset.
