Role Summary

  • Develop, consolidate and maintain the Directorate's workforce resources.
  • Coordinate TEC functional support planning cycle.
  • Manage workforce time recording and recharging of competence provision.
  • Drive the evolution of workforce/workload related IT systems.
  • Prepare internal and external reports, including Key Business Performance Indicators (KPIs), geographical return data and risk reports.
  • Participate in audits and respond to requests from internal and external stakeholders.

Role Requirements

  • Master's degree in business administration or an equivalent field.
  • Experience in disciplines related to the above-mentioned tasks.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in IT tools, including controlling tools (SAP) and data analysis and reporting tools (Excel advanced functions, Power BI).

We are looking for a Business Controller to join our team at the European Space Agency (ESA). As a Business Controller, you will report to the Head of the Resource Management & Control Office in the Management Support Office, Directorate of Technology, Engineering & Quality (D/TEC). You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of the Directorate and the efficient management of its resources. You will support the Directorate’s decision making regarding programmatic, resource deployment and business management processes.

The role: You will develop, consolidate and maintain the Directorate's workforce resources, coordinate the TEC functional support planning cycle, manage the Directorate’s workforce time recording and recharging of competence provision, and drive the evolution of workforce/workload related IT systems. You will also prepare internal and external reports, including Key Business Performance Indicators (KPIs), geographical return data and risk reports, and participate in audits and respond to requests from internal and external stakeholders.

Job requirements: You should have a master's degree in business administration or an equivalent field. A solid working background in the disciplines related to the above-mentioned tasks would be a distinct asset. You should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enabling you to work both independently and collaboratively within a diverse international team and within a matrix organisation. You should also have solid proficiency in IT tools, specifically knowledge of controlling tools (e.g. SAP) and skills in data analysis and reporting tools (e.g. Excel advanced functions, Power BI).
