Salary: £53,000 per annum, pro rata

Contract Type: Fixed-term maternity cover (Full-Time or Part-Time) 

Open to discussion for part-time candidates, with a requirement to be on site at least three days per week, ideally Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Interviews: Scheduled for August 

Start Date: Between 15th – 22nd of September

Contract Length: Approx. 10 - 12 months (subject to final confirmation)

The Republic Campus delivers a world-class student experience, featuring cafés, touchdown spaces, and fitness studios situated alongside water gardens and community play facilities. As the dedicated Campus Experience Team onsite, we coordinate cross campus events including welcome fairs, industry/career talks, street food markets, sports days, and music festivals. We also strive to be a catalyst for positive change locally, delivering social impact projects in collaboration with our partners on campus. 

About the team you’ll be part of:

Our team is headed by our Head of Campus Experience, in your role you will manage the Events Manager, Civic Engagement Manager, and Marketing & Events Coordinator. 

Our team are employed by Trilogy Campus Ltd (linked to Trilogy Real Estate LLP) and we are contracted to deliver campus experience work to Republic. In our work we are supported by the Director of People and Place at Trilogy. 

Primary role:  

This is a maternity cover position for our Head of Campus Experience. To lead and be the overall manager for the Republic Campus Experience Team at Republic, enabling the team to thrive in their roles and responsibilities. Following a period of change, the team is looking for a steady, approachable leader to offer direction and continuity. Guided by a strategic annual plan you will mobilise your team to support a thriving education community and mixed-use site at Republic. You will utilise previous HE and/or Events experience to lead on your own projects, positioning the site as a best-in-class example of the university campus of the future.  

Lead the Community Management Team: 

  • Line management for the Campus Experience Team. 
  • Support team members to create their own delivery plans, with clear success metrics, against the work outlined in the annual strategy. 
  • With your manager at Trilogy Campus Ltd, undertake performance reviews and professional development plans for team members, setting goals at the beginning of each calendar year. 
  • Conduct regular one-to-one meetings with team members to support work delivery and personal/ professional development. 
  • With your manager at Trilogy Campus Ltd, organise on-the-job training and inductions for the team. 
  • Report disciplinary issues and any other HR concerns to your line manager at Trilogy Campus Ltd, as per the process outlined in the Employee Handbook. 
  • Oversee and manage annual leave requests and staff absences across the team. 
  • Oversee the management of suppliers, contractors, and support staff involved in delivering campus-wide activities or projects, as needed. 

Strategic work: 

  • To lead on the harnessing your team’s efforts to implement the annual Campus Experience Strategy (September – August) in collaboration with the Property Management and the Investor team. 
  • Actively support the delivery of annual events programme – which is our most visible area of delivery for our university partners. 
  • Research and keep up to date on developments around student experience and needs, the future of education, and Republic’s position within this evolving landscape. 
  • Position and represent the Campus Experience Team as thought leaders within the sector 

Develop strong relationships with the occupier community: 

  • Act as the lead point of contact for the occupiers in the building – developing and building strong, information-rich relationships with lead contacts around campus experience. 
  • Work to understand and respond proactively to the changing needs of the Republic community and use this to inform your strategy. 
  • Commission research to monitor student needs and devise ways to support them through your annual strategy. 
  • Implement feedback opportunities to ensure your team continues to serve the interests of the community. 

Foster a strong sense of place and belonging: 

  • Maintain the network of contacts across the Republic education ecosystem 
  • Ensure strong utilisation of shared space on campus by students, businesses and staff 
  • Maintain a positive sense of belonging with a focus on fostering diversity and inclusion across campus 
  • Hold responsibility for the Republic brand and ensure this is showcased through marketing, communications and site presentation.

Work collaboratively with the wider site team: 

  • Work closely with the Property Management Team on any facility requirements relating to events, activations, and wayfinding projects. 
  • Collaborate with the Reception Manager to coordinate a strong ‘welcome experience’  
  • Maintain high health and safety standards in the working environment and for the management of events – as per the Events Management Policy. 
  • Work with local authorities for all required licences (e.g. temporary events notices). 
  • Review and sign off all event and project briefs, risk assessments, and supplier agreements drafted by the Campus Experience Team. 
  • Keep incident reports up to date and escalate where necessary to the Property Management Team. 

Budgeting and finance: 

  • Monitor spending inline with annual budgets for the work of the Campus Experience Team. 
  • Support quarterly financial reporting with the Trilogy Campus Ltd finance team 
  • Work with each team member to forecast quarterly outgoings and ensuring spending falls within the allocated budget. 
  • Review and approve use of budget for team members as per the finance policy and process. 

Report on the work of the Campus Experience Team: 

  • Compile quarterly reports against delivery of the annual strategy for the client. 
  • Attend monthly operational meetings with the Senior Facilities Manager. 
  • Devise clear deliverables to track successful delivery of work outlined in the annual strategy  
  • Ensure key data is captured, such as events and activation engagement, social impact monitoring, as agreed with Property Management and Investor Teams.

  5. Collaboration: Skilled at working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders—including retailers, university partners, members of the FM team, and the Republic landlord team —to build strong relationships, align goals, and achieve meaningful results together. 
  6. Strategic thinking: strong strategic thinking skills, capable of anticipating challenges and spotting opportunities unique to this muti-occupancy higher education campus, and developing innovative, forward-looking plans that support Republic’s evolving goals. 
  7. Budget management: Demonstrated proficiency in budget management and financial analysis, with strong numeracy skills and Excel capabilities to accurately track, forecast, and report on financial performance. 
  8. Personal: A warm team player, confident in creating and developing relationships with a range of stakeholders, and sensitive to supporting our small team through this period of change.
