Role Summary

Role Requirements

  • Excellent written communication, with the capacity to simplify academic work for non-academic audiences
  • Good understanding of behavioural science literature and its policy applications
  • Experience in research, data analysis, and basic grasp of statistics
  • Multitasking, deadline adherence, and robust verbal communication
  • Undergraduate degree in relevant fields (Economics, Psychology, Public Policy etc.)
  • Masters/PhD or professional work experience is preferred
  • Permanent work rights in India

The Behavioural Insights Team is the world leader in applying behavioural science to public policy challenges in order to strengthen communities and improve lives. We have offices in London, Paris, New York, Sydney & Singapore. In India we are partnering with the UK India Business Council (UKIBC) to establish our first team of consultants. The successful candidate will be employed by UKIBC.

The role entails assisting in the design and delivery of projects across a broad range of policy areas. You will contribute to the design and implementation of randomised controlled trials, online trials and other forms of evaluation. You will conduct quantitative and qualitative research, including surveys, interviews, participant observation and desktop research. You will also write draft reports, policy papers and proposals.

Job requirements include strong writing skills and ability to translate academic work for non-academic audiences, a good understanding of the behavioural science literature and how it can be applied to help solve policy problems, some experience conducting research using a range of methods and using data to answer questions, basic understanding of statistics, trial design and quantitative and qualitative analysis, an ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines, strong verbal communication and people skills, the ability and willingness to learn and develop skills, an Undergraduate in a relevant subject area (including, but not limited to: Economics, Psychology, Public Policy, Research Methods/Statistics, Anthropology). A Masters or PhD OR 1-2 years of previous professional work experience is desirable.
