Role Summary

  • Join the People Leadership Team as the Head of Change to play an instrumental role in transforming Wellcome into a top place to work.
  • Lead Wellcome-wide change programmes and create a Centre of Excellence for comprehensive change management.
  • Work with leaders across the organisation to instate effective change capabilities and drive the delivery of Wellcome’s mission.
  • Use the Awareness, Desire, Knowledge, Ability, Reinforcement (ADKAR) model to elevate the organization's proficiency in managing change.

Role Requirements

  • Demonstrated expertise in change management tools
  • Proven experience in managing change within complicated organizations, preferably in the health and research sector
  • Prior involvement in program management and leadership of cross-functional teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a capacity for data-driven decision making

The Wellcome Trust is a global charitable foundation. We improve health for everyone by funding science, leading policy and advocacy campaigns, and building partnerships. We plan to spend £16bn over the next ten years, funding new discoveries in life, health, and wellbeing, and taking on three global health challenges: mental health, infectious disease and climate and health.

We are now looking to recruit a Head of Change to join the People Leadership Team to play an active role in helping develop and implement the plans enabling Wellcome become the best place to work, in support of the delivery of the mission. Reporting into the Chief People Officer the Head of Change will be responsible for supporting Wellcome-wide change programmes, establishing a Centre of Excellence for the end-to-end process of change management, working with leaders across the organisation to ensure change capabilities are successfully embedded, enabling delivery of Wellcome’s mission.

The Head of Change will be responsible for upskilling the organisation, using the Awareness, Desire, Knowledge, Ability, Reinforcement (ADKAR) model, to drive successful change management through coaching and training.

The minimum requirements of the role are: Proficiency in change management tools. Proven track record of managing change in complex organisations, ideally within the health and research sector. Experience in programme management and leading cross-functional teams. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to make data driven decisions.
