Morningstar's Structured Credit Research and Ratings Subsidiary (Credit Ratings) is a Nationally Recognized Statistical Ratings Organization (NRSRO) renowned for its innovation and excellence in providing transparency in the structured finance market through high-quality ratings, securities research, and advanced data and technology solutions.

Role Summary:

  • Coordinate and collaborate with the SFA team, QA teams, and other development teams for high-quality and timely deliveries.
  • Implement disciplined approach to create robust software products.
  • Expected to take ownership of deliverables and work in an Agile environment.


Role Requirements:

  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in Python web/ML application development and optimization, Web Services, MVC, REST/SOAP API.
  • Experience in front-end development using Javascript (Angular/vue js/react js etc.) and back-end logic development using node js.
  • Experience with Windows Applications (VBA.NET, C#, ASP.NET, .net core) or Java applications (J2EE, Spring, Hibernate).
  • Must have database experience (Oracle/SQL Server/MySQL/PostGresSQL etc.).
  • Knowledge of CI/CD deployment, tools like Jenkins, TeamCity, Harness and distributed computing with cloud computing is preferred.
  • Experience with Elastic Search using Cloud services (AWS & Associated Technologies).
  • Strong knowledge of unit testing, application deployment, and component designing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, problem-solving and decision-making skills.

This group aims to increase market transparency and provides the highest quality ratings through securities research, monitoring services, data, and technology solutions.

The Role - The Lead Software Engineer will work closely with SFA team globally, QA teams and other development teams to ensure a timely and high-quality delivery. Will have to coordinate and work with the members in a global team in an Agile way. We are looking for an individual that can apply discipline, create solid software products and be accountable for deliverables.

Job Requirements - A minimum of 8 years’ experience working as a software developer with Python application development (Web/ML) and optimization, Web Services, MVC, REST/SOAP API with 8 -12 years total programming experience. Hands-on experience with Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, Sci-Kit Learn, data visualization libraries. Experience with CI/CD deployment, tools like Jenkins, TeamCity, Harness. Experience with the front-end development using Javascript (Angular/vue js/react js etc.) is required. Experience with the backend logic development using node js is required. Experience with Windows Applications (VBA.NET, C#, ASP.NET, .net core) or Java applications (J2EE, Spring, Hibernate) is required. Experience with database is must (Oracle/SQL Server / MySQL / PostGresSQL etc.). Experience with distributed computing with cloud computing is a plus (Amazon Web Services platform and associated technologies). Experience of Elastic Search using Cloud services using AWS & Associated Technologies is plus. Should have sound knowledge of unit testing & the application deployment. Should have sound knowledge of component designing. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent interpersonal, problem solving & decision-making skills.
