Role Summary

The British Museum is seeking a Head of Young People's Programmes. This is a full-time, permanent position based in Bloomsbury, London. The successful candidate will earn £41,852 per annum.

The role: As the Head of Young People's Programmes, you will conceive, develop and deliver high-quality and appealing programmes for Young People to maximise visitor engagement with the Museum’s Collection, in line with the Museum’s vision, values and purpose. You will display an awareness of a wide variety of relevant social and cultural issues and integrate these into a programme that will best suit the audience’s needs. You will also work with young people to co-design activities and resources, and ensure this audience is integrated into the Museum’s plans for the future.

Job requirements: The ideal candidate should have a degree in a relevant subject, be a skilled project manager in an education or cultural environment, have excellent communication skills, and have experience in managing programmes while adhering to deadlines and budgets. A passion for working with young people and the ability to connect and communicate effectively with them is essential.
