The British Museum is seeking a full-time Research Manager for a fixed term of 18 months. The role involves project management, budget support, and financial administration of both internal and externally funded research projects across the full project cycle (design, fund, report, deposit).

The role: You will work within a central team delivering high-quality Post-Award support to grant holders. Your duties will include managing a portfolio of research accounts and overseeing reporting compliance with funder terms and conditions. You will also work with project leads and researchers to co-ordinate project budgets and reporting, ensuring that reports are delivered to funders in a timely fashion.

Job requirements: Experience of managing complex research projects and financial administration is required. You should have the ability to understand and manage budgets, and experience of funding bid preparation, submission processes and reporting. A degree in a subject relevant to the Museum collection, or equivalent experience is also required. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work effectively across disciplines to support activities as part of a team are essential.
