Volunteer Trustee - Chiddingstone Castle

What will you be doing?

Chiddingstone Castle (The Denys Eyre Bower Bequest) is an independent museum seeking to strengthen its Trustee body by appointing a Trustee who leads on grants and fundraising.  This is a pivotal role in ensuring the museum’s financial success and its ability to deliver on its charitable objectives.  Key responsibilities include working with the CEO to identify and pursue funding opportunities from trusts, foundations, public bodies, and individual donors, as well as overseeing the preparation and submission of grant applications. We are looking for someone with existing expertise, networks, and influence to support income generation.

We are looking for someone with existing expertise, networks, and influence to support income generation.  Clearly, interest in the cultural and educational sector would be a distinct advantage.

In supporting efforts to secure vital funding primarily from trusts, foundations, and individual donors, this Trustee will contribute to ensuring Chiddingstone Castle's financial health and its capacity to sustain and expand its cultural, educational, and conservation activities. Ultimately, the Trustee’s leadership in the area of grants and fundraising will enable the museum to maintain its collections, deliver impactful educational programmes, and secure its future as a vital cultural institution within the community and beyond.
