What will you be doing?

Donate A Wig (DAW) is an international organisation dedicated to uplifting and empowering women from underprivileged communities in Kenya who are dealing with the side effects of cancer treatment. Many of these women, already burdened by economic hardships, face additional discrimination and stigma from their communities due to changes in their appearance caused by cancer treatment. Recognising the impact of this discrimination on their mental and emotional well-being, DAW provides support and advocacy to support the women. We have developed a range of initiatives to address the unique needs of these women and their communities. Our Programs and Initiatives:

Wig Distribution: One of the cornerstones of our organisation is our wig distribution program, which provides free wigs to women experiencing hair loss due to cancer treatment. We currently a service provider at Kenya's national hospital, Kenyatta National Hospital. Makeovers and Self-Care Workshops: In addition to providing wigs, DAW offers makeovers and self-care workshops to help women enhance their self-esteem and well-being during treatment.  Community Education and Advocacy: At DAW, we recognise that addressing the stigma and discrimination faced by cancer patients requires a multi-faceted approach. In addition to providing direct support to women, we actively engage with their communities to promote understanding, empathy, and acceptance.  Economic Empowerment Initiatives: Many of the women we serve come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds and lack access to financial resources. To address this issue, DAW is committed to promoting economic empowerment initiatives that enable women to generate income and improve their livelihoods.

What are we looking for?

Leadership: Ability to provide strategic leadership, inspiring and motivating team members towards achieving our mission. Strategic Thinking: Capacity to think strategically and envision long-term organisational goals, ensuring alignment with our mission and values.
