What will you be doing?

The role:  Working as part of The CHC Executive Leadership team to provide leadership and advice for all financial and funding initiatives and follow-up, necessary to support both the CFK and FAS projects.  Lead regular on-line strategic, functional, operational and administrative meetings, as needed.  Ultimate responsibility for the delivery of the following as it relates to your functional areas:   

Contributing to the development of The CHC culture of collaboration, to include the implementation of The CHC R&C policies, standards, processes, communication, implementation, risk mitigation, planning and management formats, and quality assurance of financial reporting, as part of “The Way We Do Things in The CHC”.  Providing timely financial reports, as required.  Translating The CHC project goals into Finance and Fundraising Team SMART Goals.  Owning, developing and communicating The CHC Finance & Accounting and Funding strategy, policies and processes, and supporting their implementation within The CHC projects.  Advising on the financial and funding aspects and opportunities pertaining to the ambitions and goals of the projects.  In collaboration with The CHC Executive Leadership, spearheading the Quality Assurance of the governance, reporting and financial management initiatives for The CHC, in line with legal and prudent policies and processes.  Responsible for the preparation of the statutory and management accounts for the charity, and supporting the management with any audit processes.   Responsible for ensuring that the budget process, monthly management accounts, forecasts and all resulting reports meet the deadlines.  Managing the annual audit and producing the Annual Report to the appropriate accounting standards   Ownership of Charity Commission reporting, keeping the charity’s details up to date and submitting the Annual Return within the deadline 

What are we looking for?

Ideally a fully qualified accountant – ACCA or equivalent  A proven track record of senior Financial Management of a charity or medium to large company  Excellent operational and leadership experience and knowledge of financial accounting systems and reporting  Experience of working within the Charity sector is a bonus  Experience of working as part of a senior management team is essential  Highly developed people skills and experience of leading a finance team  Experience of working with and / or managing IT and governance teams is a benefit  Strong systems literacy including online and reporting systems  Experience and proven competence of presenting financial reports at a senior level, in person, on line and in written report formats.

We are seeking to fill a voluntary Executive Leadership position in The Collaborative Health Community Foundation charity, The CHC. The scope of this role is to provide the executive vision and leadership for the charity’s financial and funding matters, to achieve the missions and goals of the two projects: Collaboration for Kids (CFK) and Food Addiction Solutions (FAS).    As CFO, the main responsibility for this position is to spearhead necessary financial and funding initiatives, in order to support the sustainability and financial solvency of The CHC and its projects, contributing to the strengthening and professionalism of the reputation of its brands. These brand values include the perspectives of The CHC as an authentic, collaborative, solutions-focused and financially prudent organisation.     Within this executive leadership role, there is an expectation that the CFO will establish a Finance and Funding Strategy, and the necessary policies, processes, governance and implementation plans that will support the long-term sustainability and brand value of The CHC, to meet the ambitions, missions and goals of the projects within The CHC, within applicable legal, financial, ethical and quality standards.    As such, the CFO will be expected to use their professional strategic experience, knowledge and team building capacities, to bring the necessary vision, skills, management experience and leadership to the Executive Leadership team of The CHC, to take the lead on all financial and other ‘enabling team’ matters.
