What will you be doing?
Responsibilities:
Overall control of the HR and recruitment function. Represent the HR team within the organisation, providing confident and clear communication to Trustees, members and colleagues. Oversee along with the treasurer remuneration and reward packages and processes, ensuring fairness and alignment with the charity values. Ensure accountability in HR-related areas, including health and safety and diversity, across the charity. Create and implement a fair and diverse recruitment strategy, assuming overall responsibility for its successful execution. Advise the trustees on referencing data from external benchmarking. Take control of the HR risks, reporting to ARC. Ensure all HR activities are fully compliant with employment law, keeping up to date with legal requirements and regulations. Develop and oversee training and development programs to enhance volunteer and employee skills and capabilities. Implement and manage an engagement strategy for all members of the charity. Ensure a diverse and inclusive workplace by developing and implementing policies and practices that promote equality, diversity, and inclusion. Working with HR team members to implement diverse sourcing strategies and leverage diverse recruitment channels. Reviewing and monitor recruitment processes and metrics to identify and address any potential biases or barriers to diversity.
What are we looking for?
CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development) qualification is desired, with evidence of ongoing professional development. Previous experience in a senior HR role, such as Head of HR or equivalent, within a charitable or not-for-profit organisation. Proven ability to develop and motivate individuals and teams to achieve goals. In-depth knowledge of employment law and the ability to apply legislation effectively. Passion for working with people and a genuine commitment to the organisation's charitable mission. Outstanding communication skills, including the ability to deliver difficult news and influence at the Trustee level. Exceptional organisational skills , including the ability to prioritise tasks
