Volunteer Dance charity supporting older individuals seeks Treasurer

What will you be doing?

Dance Creative has grown rapidly, with increasing demand as the older population grows. Many older adults face barriers to dance due to health, mobility, financial, or social challenges. We’re committed to reaching those in need. With three years of funding from the Community Fund, we’ve expanded our programmes across Oxfordshire, especially for at-risk and vulnerable older adults. This support has helped us grow in impact.   As a voluntary Treasurer, you'll join a passionate team and work closely with our Artistic Director and Chair. 

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a Treasurer to join our Board of Trustees and help guide Dance Creative through a period of development and growth. This voluntary role is a vital part of our leadership team, ensuring our charity’s financial health, sustainability and compliance. We’re keen to hear from individuals with a strong understanding of finance - particularly in the charity sector - and experience in areas such as accounting, budgeting, or financial oversight. Ideally, you’ll have worked in a financial role and be familiar with charity finance regulations and reporting requirements. In terms of qualities, we are looking for someone who brings sound judgement, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset. You’ll be comfortable presenting financial information clearly to a range of stakeholders and enjoy working as part of a team to support the wider goals of the charity. As Treasurer, you’ll play a key role in helping us manage our resources responsibly, advise on financial strategy, and support our resilience and growth. You’ll work closely with the Artistic Director, Chair and fellow Trustees to ensure Dance Creative can continue delivering high-quality, inclusive dance opportunities for older adults. What difference will you make?

As a Treasurer, you will support our work to improve lives through creative dance in Oxfordshire and beyond.  As a vital member of Dance Creative’s Board, the Treasurer plays a key role in safeguarding the charity’s financial health and ensuring compliance with charity finance regulations.  This voluntary position supports the organisation’s sustainability, resilience, and long-term growth by overseeing financial management, advising on strategy, and contributing to effective governance. Through regular collaboration with the Artistic Director and Board, the Treasurer helps ensure Dance Creative can continue delivering its mission with confidence and integrity. Our Treasurer supports our Director and Board in ensuring we have financial stability to continue providing our services to local communities.
