What will you be doing?
We're looking for someone with experience to research potential new grants, and, assuming eligibility, apply. Funding is integral to what we do, and we're looking for new avenues to raise funds.
What are we looking for?
This is role is somewhat varied, and is split into two parts: Research/Finding appropriate grants
To find appropriate grants, you'll need to evaluating sources critically, organise information, and communicate your findings clearly. For the latter, this means the ability to use the Google Workspaces suite (Google Drive, Google Sheets and Google Docs etc). You'll need to search and sift through potential grants, to understand if the grant is appropriate for The Mikaere Foundation and if we meet the eligibility criteria.
Grant Application/Bid Writing
This will involve pulling the application together (which is varied, depending on the grant organisation) and submitting the application. You'll need good oral and written communication, and will need to pay attention to detail and have meticulous proofreading skills Please note: medical/research knowledge is not needed here. While it might be helpful for your understanding as some of our funds will (hopefully) go to NKH Research, we receive lay-person updates from our research teams, and are not privy to the detailed, ins and outs of the medical research projects we support.
What difference will you make?
When one in three children born with NKH aren't likely to see their first birthday, you will be helping to bring about change. It will be because of the work you do, that one day, we'll be able give children with NKH a future. Until then, we seek to support and enrich the lives of children with NKH and their families.
