Role Summary

  • Develop and execute marketing plans targeting primary school teachers and leadership teams.
  • Lead digital marketing campaigns, from content creation to launch.
  • Work closely with freelance marketers and other suppliers to ensure quality and timely delivery.
  • Performance tracking and reporting of marketing campaigns.
  • Support sales initiatives and lead generation strategies.
  • Manage designated areas of the marketing budget.
  • Manage and supervise team members and additional projects as required.

Introduction to the role

A fantastic opportunity to become a key member of a high-performing marketing team and manage successful, strategic campaigns that resonate with primary school teachers and school leadership teams. You’ll be responsible for creating innovative campaigns across a range of subjects with a focus on digital channels, that meet revenue, evaluation and dues targets and help grow Collins’ presence in the strategically important primary market. You will be part of the team working on the market leading series Collins Big Cat and developing how we support reading in primary schools.

Key tasks and accountabilities

  •   Develop, write and implement marketing plans for product areas as directed on time and to budget

  • Produce marketing campaigns that deliver ideas with accuracy and flair, with relevant messages and appropriate use of design

  • Show leadership driving digital campaigns that make full use of online marketing opportunities, including briefing web pages, copy writing, creating video and graphics for social media channels and designing emails

  • Utilise all digital platforms and channels including YouTube and Amazon to produce innovative campaigns that set us apart from the competition

  • Work effectively with freelance marketers, designers, mailing houses and other marketing service providers, giving clear briefs and guidance to ensure that quality work is delivered to schedule and budget

  • Measure and report upon campaign performance

  • Support the sales team with ongoing lead generation, effective materials and sales initiatives as required

  • Management of designated areas of the marketing budget

  • Plan, organise and attend events and exhibitions as agreed and in line with strategic aims of the division

  •    Line management and supervision of team members as agreed with the Schools Marketing Director

  • Actively research and look for marketing opportunities to maximise reach and drive sales of resources

  • Work with authors to help maximise sales and to support our aim to provide excellent author care

  • Present campaigns to the sales team and wider business as needed

  • Lead on additional projects as needed and agreed with the schools marketing director

  • Work with editorial colleagues to shape acquisitions and resource development

Experience required:

  • An interest in education publishing and marketing

  •   Proven success in using a range of digital marketing channels successfully

  • Experience of design systems preferable – e.g. Canva/Photoshop/Adobe

  • Strong organisation skills and ability to prioritise workload and juggle tasks

  • A clear, accurate writing style and the ability to produce fluent and persuasive copy

  • Able to use initiative to develop new ideas and solve problems

  • A proactive and can-do attitude, with the ability to remain calm under pressure

  • A team player with excellent communication and people skills

  • Excellent attention to detail
