Role Summary

Application Process Details

You will report to the Head of the Galileo Space Segment Management Office and will be responsible for the G2A Space Segment Management Service activities. Your tasks and responsibilities will include: supporting the Galileo satellite ITT process for future versions from preparation, publication and competitive dialogue through to BAFO evaluation, in coordination with the Head of the Galileo Space Segment Management Office and ESA’s Procurement service.

You will be responsible for contractual, technical and programmatic monitoring and coordinating of industrial activities for G2A satellite design, manufacturing, AIV/AIT, qualification and on-ground acceptance, in line with agreed technical, schedule and cost requirements, with minimum risk.

You will manage activities related to satellite development risk, analysis and the implementation of changes, waivers, deviations, anomalies and alerts leading to recommendations for space segment-level decisions for the G2 project and decisions at overall programme level.

You will also be responsible for identifying, assessing, managing and reporting on the health and safety risks in your area of responsibility.

A master's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering is required for this post. Proven experience of leading, motivating and developing a team in a project setting is also required. The ability to provide strategic direction to individuals and teams, and to relate team objectives to the overall, evolving organisational goals and context is necessary.

People management experience is required, and international experience would be an asset, including outside your home country, as would experience in diverse functional areas relevant to ESA activities. Mobility is inherent to management functions and this position may be subject to rotation. Mobility opportunities may therefore be offered to you as part of your career evolution at ESA, starting after approximately five years in this role.

Applicants must be eligible to access information, technology, and hardware which is subject to European or US export control and sanctions regulations & eligible to acquire the security clearance by their national security administrations. During the recruitment process, the Agency may request applicants to undergo selection tests. Additionally, successful candidates will need to undergo basic screening before appointment, which will be conducted by an external background screening service, in compliance with the European Space Agency's security procedures.
