As a steering group member you will play a vital role in helping to drive awareness of The Equal Skies Charter, help to form strategy and support the delivery of our mission.

What will you be doing?

Time commitment: 5 days per year for steering group members and 7 days per year for the deputy chair/chair. Occasional training and additional meetings and sector events. This role is hybrid. What skills do you need to have?

Be non-judgmental and respect views, values and cultures that are different to your own Have good listening, verbal and written communication skills Be able to exercise good independent judgement Be willing to learn about and follow the Equal Skies Charters aims, principles and policies, including confidentiality and data protection Have a genuine passion for our mission of removing barriers in the Aviation and Aerospace sector Bring energy, enthusiasm and commitment to the role, broadening the diversity of thinking of the Equal Skies steering group Lived disability experience and/or a background in fundraising, communications or business development is preferred

What are we looking for?

Our ideal candidate would have experience in business development, fundraising, communications or lived disability experience. Most importantly our successful candidate must be passionate to make positive and lasting change for people with disabilities. As the successful candidate will be working as part of a team, they must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to engage in debate in a professional and respectful manner.
