Role Summary:

  • Oversee the care, documentation, research, and interpretation of the Iranian collection.
  • Represent the museum and participate in the art and culture discourse of Iran, both nationwide and around the world.
  • Contribute to the broader work of the Asia Department and the museum, including public programmes and income generation.

Role Requirements:

  • A deep appreciation and understanding of art and design.
  • Familiarity with architecture, furniture, fashion, textiles, photography, sculpture, painting, jewellery, glass, ceramics, book arts, Asian art and design, theatre and performance.

The Role: In this 12-month role, you’ll take responsibility for the care, documentation, research, and interpretation of the Iranian collection held within the Asia Department, based at South Kensington. The postholder will represent the museum and play an active role in the field of the art and culture of Iran, nationally and internationally. They will also play a role in the wider work of the Asia Department and of the museum, collaborating with other departments, contributing to public programmes, and supporting income generation.
