The British Museum is seeking a creative and audience-focused Interpretation Manager to join our Design & Interpretation team. This role is crucial in delivering sector-leading galleries, special exhibitions, and visitor experiences. As an Interpretation Manager, you will work closely with curators, designers, project teams, community partners, and external specialists to create engaging and innovative displays that connect with diverse audiences. This position offers a unique opportunity to influence major exhibitions such as Hawai’i: a kingdom crossing oceans and Samurai, ensuring they meet audience needs and set industry standards.
Key Responsibilities: You will lead the implementation of ambitious interpretation plans, champion the intellectual structure of displays, and ensure exhibitions engage priority audiences effectively. Your tasks will include shaping, editing, and proofreading exhibition texts and providing visitor insights to guide project decisions. Additionally, you will support colleagues with research and represent the team across the museum.
