What will you be doing?
What will you be doing? We are looking for someone who can demonstrate previous fundraising success. There are (3) key deliverables. · Firstly, to identify the most appropriate funding sources for our charity · Secondly, to collate an all-purpose list of potential funders · Thirdly, to apply for grants/submit bids You will work with the CEO/Founder of SLYC Joanne Jarrett and be supported by the Chair and/or one other Trustee. This is a significant opportunity, in order to raise funds for specific areas of our organisation. You can be located anywhere in the UK – as we can connect via Zoom/Teams when/if needed. We are a young and developing organisation and seeks someone who shares our vision and mission enough to spend the necessary time and effort on this vital activity.
What are we looking for?
What are we looking for? The ideal candidate would be someone with: · A passion for and working knowledge of fundraising techniques · Experience in winning bids · Grant writing research and bid-writing skills · Ability to work mainly on your own, or with a maximum of (2) others with enthusiasm and commitment · Strong writing and presentation skills with the ability to write compelling, relevant, impactful and engaging copy (with attention to detail) · Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with a diverse range of individuals · Good IT skills · Knowledge and experience of sponsorship, donations, and marketing would be an advantage · A proactive nature – who is able to work semi-independently, developing and implementing fundraising strategies, organising events, and building relationships with donors to generate funds and increase awareness for the charity · Knowledge of the socio-economic make-up of Lambeth would be advantageous

Your assistance in helping to write winning bids, providing crucial funding, will be transformative and help strengthen the work already being done by an excellent small team of volunteers. Your role will be critical in helping to ensure that we can maintain both our existing and planned projects; continue to work with the community, as well as our stakeholders and more importantly, safeguard the future sustainability of our charity, by securing financial and other long-term support for our organisation. We are hopeful that a successful fundraiser, will mean the future possibility of a paid position within the charity.
