We are currently recruiting for a Research Officer (researcher) to work across several research and service design teams at the social enterprise, which offers services (social, digital etc) to local communities and SMEs.

What will you be doing?

The researcher will design and conduct research studies related to discovering new, and improving existing, technologies and working practice in the given field of expertise. The research will also relate to the design of services. Part of an researcher’s job is to analyse system needs and plan renewable, cost-effective and  environmentally friendly solutions. The hours and days for this role are flexible. 

What are we looking for?

Experience  Prior experience in the research sector. Skills and Competence 

Project coordination: experience in project coordination is desired (including planning, coordination, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of activities in multi-partner, multi-country projects). Research and analysis: Ability to search and identify relevant information online and offline; persistent in seeking out difficult-to-find information; creative in identifying new sources of information. Strong attention to detail and understanding of research methodologies necessary. Partnership and coalition building: Commitment to, and 3-5 years' experience in working with diverse international partners and building coalitions with shared objectives and targeted outcomes. Strategic thinking: Track record of developing successful program strategies to effect change. Experience tailoring outputs for diverse international audiences and advocacy experience an asset. Self-starter and adept decision-maker: Driven to make change happen, and experience in delivering high impact work with remote supervision. Team player: Experience with remote, interdisciplinary, and culturally diverse teams. Focus on supporting partners and team to achieve impact, combined with abilities to prioritise, organise, and work independently. Communicator: Strong communication skills with a high standard of spoken and written English. Strong writing skills and demonstrable interest in writing for public audiences, from briefing papers to blogs, tweets, and Facebook.
