What will you be doing?

The Nutritional Therapy Education Commission (NTEC) are seeking a volunteer board member to join their team of dedicated education professionals. NTEC is an executive body within British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine (BANT) and accredits courses against the Complementary and Natural Health Council (CNHC) Core Curriculum and the National Occupational Standards (NOS) in clinical practice of nutritional therapy. The CNHC is a PSA-accredited register of complementary health care practitioners and the National Occupational Standards were developed and updated by Skills for Health, www.skillsforhealth.org.uk which is the Sector Skills Council for the healthcare sector, licensed by the Secretary of State for Education and Skills.   Board Member Profile Board members are expected to have senior organisational experience and involvement in strategic planning and decision making with a track record in proactive and professional engagement, working within a team and with stakeholders. Knowledge and skill level familiarity within the health and nutrition profession, and clinical practice is essential. The Board member role is a volunteer role and requires attendance at quarterly online board meetings, which include reading board papers (approximately three hours each quarter), and ad hoc project work (expenses are paid based on pre-approved project proposals). The role is flexible and can be undertaken from any location.

What are we looking for?

Essential

Senior organisational experience e.g., director, board member, senior leader History of strategy level planning and decision making Capacity to work in an unpaid, volunteering role At least one of these, or very similar, within your experience & background: Nutritional Therapy (clinical practice) - Nutritionist - Higher Education - Professional Regulation 

Very Nice

Any combination of the desired experience e.g., education within nutrition Greater knowledge of the UK nutrition professional landscape

As a board member, you will engage and contribute with your unique skills, knowledge and insight gained in higher education and in the field of nutrition and/or nutrition and lifestyle medicine science, to further support the future of nutrition and lifestyle medicine education and clinical practice in the UK.
